Finished Mailbox

The installed mailbox and proud workers.

Mailbox Americana

The humble yet proud family mailbox. We chose a simple mailbox. It will serve us for a time. We plan on putting a larger more secure mailbox up after the construction of our home. In the mean time, while we live in the shop, this box will do. We put it up as an act of faith. A statement of belief that God will indeed allow us to move onto the land. If you look close you can see the blue water line location.

Ashleigh finishing installing the box. My face is very red and swollen a little because I stopped to pick up my deer stand and got eaten by thousands out mosquitoes.

Installing the Mailbox 5

Installing the box base. The mailbox will be screwed into this board from the sides.

Finishing the post attachment to the stabilizing base.

Installing the Mailbox 4

Cutting the post down to size.

Installing the Mailbox

Cutting the 2x4s to create a striking location to drive the mailbox stabilizing bar into the ground.

Preparing to drive the stabilizer into the ground.

Locating the Mailbox

This is the utility marking of the water line. It is easier to read in the picture than it was out there in the sun on Sunday. It reads 2" (inch) PVC.

This is a picture showing the location of the water line compared to our preferred mailbox location.

Measuring the Road

Measuring the length of the road from Middleton to Duke. We are going to have to rough gravel the road for the construction and delivery trucks. Later we will put finish gravel down.

Marking Location 2

The girls watching and waiting. They wanted to walk the road. Soon that is exactly what they did.
